Changing Names

I really don't like it when names of things are changed. I'm a firm believe in the old saying, "If it's not broke, don't fix it."

I passed a sign today advertising for a funeral home and prepaying for funeral expenses. Instead of calling it a funeral, they called it a "Remembrance Ceremony". Why not just call it what it is? Like calling used cars "pre-owned". I guess I just don't like to sugar coat things or put "spins" on them. I want things straight forward.

Another one is calling an apartment, an apartment home. Or better yet a condo. We lived in a "condo" a couple of years ago...It was nothing more than an apartment. A two bedroom, one a half bath apartment. When I think of condo, I think of something near the beach. Now, granted, we were about a mile from Mobile Bay, I don't think it qualifies as a condo.

Things I love!

One of the things that I love and treat myself too once in a while is Real Simple magazine. I always love their ideas of organization, decorating and meal ideas. I just wish I would actually put them into practice. Even if I did put them into practice, my family would probably put them out of practice...lol

So proud!

I tried blogging from my phone last night. It didn't work. I came across looking like this:

I need to figure out a way to blog from my phone. I think there would be a lot more posts if I could. Maybe there's an app on iTunes?

I'm in heaven...well just happy

I am super excited! Today while at Walgreen's, I saw that Carmex has the Lime Twist flavor of click sticks back. I used the last stick until I was literally scraping it out of the end. It's the little things!

Another happy today was the mother/son time I got to spend with Conner. Even though it was just taking him to the doctor to find out he has impetigo on his face. He was super good. He and I hardly get to spend time together just us two. He was very good at Walgreen's too. I was able let him stay on the toy isle while I got what I needed. Again, it's the little things...

Random Tip

Target bags make the perfect liners for bathroom garbage cans. They are they perfect size. When I figured this out, I threatened my husband with bodily harm if he ever threw one away again. I sort of wish they would sell them that would be awesome!

Today we are going to the Exploreum and the battleship USS Alabama. Conner is super excited about the battleship because we've always told him he has to wear his New Balances because they didn't allow Crocs on there for safety. Always fun to manipulate your children!

Since the last time we spoke...

Caroline finally started walking at 19 months. I didn't think she was ever going to walk. She had a pop in her right hip that our chiropractor adjusted a couple of times. I thought the pop might have been contributing to her not wanting to walk. Turns out she was just not ready to walk.

Billy and I joked that she needed to start walking before we went to Disney World in April so she could walk to Mickey Mouse. Well, just before we went, she started walking! :)

Conner completed his first year of school. He had an amazing teacher and really excelled in reading. Very proud of him! He went on many field trips and I got to tag along with him. He has lost his bottom two teeth and checks the others daily to see if they are loose.

I'm going to be going to a class to learn how to effectively use coupons next month. Hopefully I will learn to save some money while doing it. :) Through one of the blogs I follow I saw a site to blog about different products. I signed up for it and am excited to start doing it.
